Week 1 – A Promise of Overflowing Life!

fountain1.jpgHey, welcome to Outflow – “Get ready to JUMP IN! It’ll be an Adventure!” This series will require some things of you! First, you will need to bring your Bible to V-Church every week to get the MOST out of the series; second you will need to do the work in your journals 5 out of 7 days per week!! Now that is just not a lot to do!! Actually I think it is going to be a BLAST!! On Day 1 when you get the FOCUS part of your journal you will see that you need to pray “outward” – that means find a place outside to pray. Settle down! You don’t need to pray like  a CRAZY person outisde! You just need to focus on someone other than yourself while outside and pray quietly! Really NOT a big deal!! Let’s try to take 15 mins. 5 days per week and work on our journals - all of your V-Church leaders will be working right along w/you! So join the blog. let’s talk and LET’S GET STARTED…                                                    Joann :)

Wow! This looks like it will be a great tool for keeping people connected and engaged in the material.

I am praying for each student during this journey.

I agree Ang, I too enjoyed the first devo. I really like the looking into of our time management, becuase you teens are just such busy people. Sometimes you (and even us) dont even realize how busy we are. And as Kiera talked about on Sunday: do we at times get so busy that we miss out on God, His love, His blessing, or whatever He has in store for us?

Totally Jeff! How many times do we miss it because WE are not stopping to look! Great observation!!

Hi Everyone. I have done my second devo today and I am already getting alot out of it. I hope you guys are too. I am finding when I give God the first part of my day my entire day goes better. First fruits – first of our money, first of our time – It’s the way to go. I can’t wait to hear from you guys about how your week is going.

hey everyone! so i just did my second day devo… and i think it is so great. it says in the book that we have to post our answers to the questions…. so here are my answers…. 1. The Samaritan lady was using her own well water to fill her life because she goes on in the verses to say how she wanted Jesus to give her some of his living water. 2. Instead if her own well water Jesus offered her his living water. 3. Her life paralles ways my life usually works because i usually just want to do things on my own and by reading this story it made me realize that i need Jesus’ living water so that i don’t have to live alone and i don’t have to fetch my own “water”. So I really like this study so far and the first day devo was awesome too because it made me realize that i have been too busy to focus on God and that I need to put more time into praying and talking to him and i just have to make that part of my daily routine… well I hope everyone is enjoying it so far because i know i am…. ttyl..

Hey guys! I just wanted to shoot yall a note that if you do not see your response posted right away dont worry. You have to get approved the first time so that not just anyone can post anything, so it may take a while for your first posting to go up. As we do this, you will see things move faster. Hope to hear from more of you!

“God’s love pouring over the grounds of our lives wakes us up to a more flavorful life than we ever could have imagined. In Him, we understand the full essence of who we are.” – I LOVE that!! Okay, so here’s my answers for devo day 2: 1. Men-whatever she could get “in that moment” to satisfy her own self. 2. A water that will satisfy her forever. A water that will be more than enough for her. 3. Sometimes my flesh wants something right now-but whenever I feed the flesh I always end up wanting more. Thank you Alicia for jumping in with us! I cannot wait to hear how everyone elses devo’s and days are going! Join the fun people!

Hey, I was just reading about how we can show love in our own community and I can’t stop thinking about that guy who came to church Sunday and talked about serving hot meals to homeless people and poor people through his church. And I really think that is a great way to show our love in the community. Any body with me? I would love to go serve a meal or several meals to the community!!!
